I tried searching Google for attorneys who work with clients that need assistance with their STD (short term disability) claim. Most lawyers and companies want to take on cases that involve long term disability or workman's comp claims. It's been said that winning an STD claim can be hard and not always cost effective for an attorney to take on. After connecting with a local law firm who shared that while they themselves couldn't represent me, they wanted to know if I would be interested in speaking with someone from Insurance Appeal Consultants. From the moment I was in contact with Jenny, she made me feel at ease. She took the time to really understand my situation, even calling me while she was out of the office on sick leave to clarify information that she was sharing with her colleague Ellen so that they could help provide me with the best possible solution. Although their services are not free, the cost is quite reasonable for what you are receiving. They are very honest about what they can and can't do and I felt comfortable with the guidance I received from them. I highly recommend them if you are looking for appeal consultants but do not necessarily need a lawyer. I got denied short-term disability and did not even know where to start on the appeal process. It was causing me a lot of stress on top of dealing with the new medical condition that caused me to need to start short-term disability. We unfortunately did not win the appeal, but it was not Jenny and Ellen's fault for that. We all thought we had a strong case for me to win. Even though we lost, they are still trying to help me out with finding out the next steps we could take in this issue. Overall, they made the process a lot easier to understand and handle, and fixed anything that needed to be fixed, as well as getting everything put together for me to just be able to submit the appeal.
